Energy Management & Services Co. (EMS) is providing project management, engineering design and technical services for a large gas transmission, distribution, and storage company located in the Appalachia region. EMS continuously provides a wide range of services for multiple projects, serving many different divisions and locations of this client. Working with client executives and managers, EMS project managers, supported by senior EMS engineering personnel, are responsible for proper scope definition, planning, and scheduling of all client projects assigned to EMS. The EMS project managers and department heads work closely together to carefully plan all projects, assign the appropriate EMS personnel to the work, and manage the successful completion of each project on or ahead of schedule and within budget constraints. The client receives weekly reports and updates for each project underway.

Specific project assignments vary widely, and include:

  • Project management and coordination assistance for capital projects, IMP projects, and system maintenance projects.

  • Engineering and technical assistance to support compression, metering and regulation, and gas processing equipment operations and maintenance.

  • Equipment review for proper selection and installation.

  • Technical support for pipeline relocations, upgrades, and new installations.

  • Integrity management consulting and technical assistance including HCA identification and verification, data collection, and documentation support.

  • Facilities verification and technical support to facilitate third party changes brought about by development in growing areas.

The actual list of individual projects is extensive. Crucial to the success of this EMS-client working relationship are constant and detailed communications, understanding the clients system and requirements, diligent planning and project management, EMS personnel experienced in technical issues and the region, and location of EMS offices throughout the region.

Our client has also taken advantage of our temporary technical staff program, an offering separate from our routine technical services. For each specific assignment, EMS identifies and locates one or more qualified individuals to be resident in the client’s facility using their office space and equipment, and working a normal 40 hour week under the direction of client supervision. The client has total responsibility for management, supervision, and work quality approval for the staff employed under this arrangement. EMS adds value by providing well qualified, dependable, and experienced personnel for client projects on a temporary basis, thereby relieving the client of the burden of long-term employment commitments.
