EMS Relocates in Houston, TX
EMS is proud to announce that we have relocated our Houston office to new and more spacious quarters. Robert McFadden, EMS Vice President of Houston Operations said “We had outgrown our existing office space and need to have room for more personnel as our Houston operations continue to grow. Our new Houston offices have been custom designed to meet the needs of a full service pipeline engineering company. We have installed state of the art communications and IT systems. Our new space is double the size of our old one and offers our employees and clients a bright, modern and appealing place to work.” With an eye to the future, EMS has also negotiated the option to almost double again the new space.
The new offices are located in west Houston and are convenient to the Sam Houston toll road and the new Westpark toll road. The address is 9990 Richmond Avenue, Suite 202 South, Houston, TX 77042. Our new Houston office telephone number is 713.456.7880.
Please drop by to see us when you are in the area. We always welcome the opportunity to show off our new offices! In addition, we will be holding an open house, stay tuned for the details.
GIS Capabilities at EMS
The GIS Business Unit has been formed at EMS under the direction of Robert McFadden to better focus the direction of GIS implementation for ourselves and our clients. Currently EMS is utilizing GIS on different projects to streamline dataflow from field survey information into project databases. This information is used to clarify decision making processes and speed delivery of mapping. As always, EMS is continuing to explore new and better methods of providing services for the industry.
EMS focuses on Safety Program
EMS is re-dedicating itself to SAFETY. For years now, EMS has maintained a safety program and we are thankful that we have an exemplary safety record, but we have chosen 2007 as the year that we re-dedicate ourselves to the safety of our employees and the people around us. Two Safety Directors have been named; Margaret Bennett and Daryl Brangers. We also have a Safety Committee which represents a cross section of our Business Units. They are; Mary Smith and Kasi Egbert of Administration, Steve Roberts of Operations, Jason Watkins of Staff Services (Drafting and Surveying), Shane Honn of EMSQC and David Bennett of EMSQC - Inspection. Our goal is to become known as that professional firm that puts safety first. We will be asking everyone with whom we associate to help us achieve this goal.
Texas Gas Greenville Lateral

EMS Quality Control Work Continues
Louis Dreyfus Pipeline LP (LDP) has awarded EMS Quality Control, LLC (EMSQC) the inspection on the Hull to Mont Belvieu Mainline Extension 12" NGL pipeline extension in southeast Texas. The proposed pipeline consists of approximately 30 miles of 12” pipe, with metering facilities at the connection to the LDP mainline and at each delivery point. The scheduled in-service date for the pipeline is May 15, 2007.
EMSQC has also been selected to provide construction inspection personnel and environmental inspection personnel on Nisource (Columbia Gas Transmission) projects and Texas Gas Transmission projects for the duration of 2007.
EMS Continues the Chesapeake Compressor Stations
In December of 2006, Energy Management & Services was awarded seven compressor station projects for Chesapeake Appalachia, LLC. The stations total 16,480 Brake Horsepower (BHP) for compression and are located in West Virginia, Kentucky and Virginia. Energy Management will be providing design mechanical, civil and electrical services as well as drafting, survey, project management and inspection. Design and construction of these projects should run into the fall of 2007.
EMS Acquires Software to Assist with Project Planning
Energy Management & Services Co. is now using a Project Planning and Resource Management module to help plan projects more effectively and efficiently. This will enable Project Managers to utilize all available personnel and confirm that the company has the resources to complete the proposed and current projects. Along with managing resources, this module will assist in planning the schedule for each project to assure each task meets the client's deadline. EMS feels this will be a valuable tool providing assurance to the clients that we have the resources and time needed to complete their projects.
